About Euro Recycling Limited
Euro-Recycling was founded in September 2002 by our current Managing Director, Quentin Jackson along with our Chairman Muir Moffat and our Operations Director Jonathan Day.
Quentin spent ten years working in IT recycling business and became aware of the huge opportunities that would exist with the arrival of the WEEE directive. Working with Muir, who has 40 years of business experience with IBM and as part of the management team that carried out the MBO of Unipart from British Leyland, Euro recycling was born. Jon, who worked with Quentin in his previous recycling company joined Euro recycling and between them they carried out their first collections of IT equipment.
They were joined by Richard Webber as Sales and Marketing Director in June 2005 who came to the company after spending 20 years with Hewlett Packard and their spin off Agilent Technologies.
Whilst the WEEE directive was delayed by the numerous consolation processes the company focused on satisfying businesses needs to comply with the Data Protection Act by securely destroying the data on the hard drives of the PCs it collected and latterly by helping customers comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Waste Regulations.
In January 2006 Euro Recycling was granted its Waste Management License which means we are already considered a WEEE Authorised Treatment Facility, ATF, by the Environment Agency. In June 2007 we became one of the first Approved Authorised Treatment Facility, AATF, enabling us to give evidence notes to the Producer Compliance Schemes, PCSs. PCSs need evidence notes to demonstrate to the authorities that they have met there members required tonnage of recycling determined by their previous years market share.
Euro recycling has collected redundant IT equipment from over 800 businesses in its short existence and is now poised to grow this number dramatically as the WEEE directive has taken effect.
We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and are pleased to say that the majority of these 800 customers use us again and again to dispose of their redundant business WEEE.
